Probably the best classified ad EVER!

Stumbled upon one amazing classified ad today. Honestly, this is a once-in-a-life-timer. One of my Facebook friends posted it to another. Really though, take a read. This is one that couldn't not get documented. Doug, I thank you for your classified posting skills.

Well. The wait is over. The most ballingest car ever is finally on the market. This one-of-a-kind ZX2 coupe is to the limit. And it takes no prisoners.

Thats a double whammy.

Features? Yeah, its got em. Like how about it comes in sparkly, get-rich-or-die-tryin green. That means its camouflaged in the forest or lush fields of grass where you will undoubtedly be taking your lady (or ladies if youre driving this) for a picnic of skewered lamb and frosty beverages. Green = the new whatever color you want. Green = mother natures cloaking device.

Its got privacy glass so you can do whatever the eff you want as you blitz past zombies on the freeway. Plus, while everyone else is looking at each other picking their nose, youll be chillin in a darkened cocoon of comfort and maintaining the mystique and mystery that comes naturally when you own a ZX2.

30+ MPG? Uh-huh. Get out there and explore, Magellan.

Air Con? Check. Keep cool, my brother.

Cruise Control? Oh most definitely. Dont be like everyone else on the freeway with their stop-slow-and-go driving. Lock this baby in at 85 - Utah's real speed limit - and save on the MPGeezle.

Power windows? Power locks? Power steering? Thats a fatty mcfatty yes.

AM/FM, 6-Disc CD changing entertainment extravaganza? You know it.

Leather interior? Rare for ZX2s - but not this one. Because luxury is seats that feel smooth on your butt.

Zippy 4-speed auto tranny? Indubitably.

And before you ask, no youre not dreaming - yes, that is a spoiler back there and yes. . . you want this car. Bad.

This well-maintained and fully restored beauty is a salvage title. It was bought out of an insurance pool after getting into a tiny fender bender (i.e. vicious car cock fight. . . which it won. . . with metal and brawn).

The right front fender was dented, but then replaced by a cadre of men who were born in garages and bottle-fed Penzoil. Basically all that means is now this amazing piece of machinery has more character than your neighbors lame van.

Bottom line: if this car were any more advanced, it would stand up and say 'Autobots, roll out!'
Amazing. Right?

Grandpa Sullivan

This is a picture of my Grandpa Sullivan. I miss him so much. I do not think he knew when he was here on earth the effect that he had upon the people around him. You honestly will not find a better person with a more tender heart. I often times wish that I would be able to see him interact with Cannon, Cohen, and Jacee. They would LOVE him and I think the feelings would be mutual. I know they have met and spent time together before. I am jealous that they were able to see him more recently then myself.

Today I was able to get off work a little bit earlier than normal. With the weather being absolutely perfect, we decided to throw the kids in the stroller for a little cruise around town. We decided to stop at the cemetery and show them Grandpa Sullivan's gravesite. It was a real good experience and I am glad it happened. We should always take advantage of the time we have with those in our lives who we love and are close to. It is so important.

That's all she wrote.

"Protecting the Leather"

As each day passes, I feel like I am getting smarter and smarter. Not wise, but smart. In fact, I could probably be a pretty effective salesperson in any field. A true test of "selling" for me is getting any idea/plan/possible purchase passed Jandee. She is a griller. Not in a bad way, don't get me wrong. Let's just say she likes to think things through and make good decisions. That is one of the qualities she possesses that helps keep me in check.

So...... I wanted to get the windows tinted on my car. How do I justify this purchase and sell her the idea? Hmmmm......? Pretty tricky one. Hmmmm.....?

I'VE GOT IT!

We want this car to last right? And we want it to stay nice. Right? We're going to need to do something to    "protect the leather" seats. We better get the windows tinted.

All right this is dragging on forever.

I was able to get my windows tinted. It looks SO much better. Stoked.

Toots, Happy Happy Birthday!

Today is Jandee's 25th birthday. Happy Birthday Toots!

It wouldn't be right for me to have a blog and be blogging currently and not give her the spotlight today. She is so good to me. She really is. She is the best wife to me and mother to each of our kids. She keeps me in line all of the time. I cannot imagine what my life would be without her. Actually, just thinking about that for even a split second kind of makes me sick. New thought. I love her so much. Jandee, I know you are going to read this entry sometime soon. I love you. Thank you for all that you do for me and the kids on a daily basis. You work so hard everyday. Happy birthday Toots. I hope your day was a good one and we'll just have to spread this ''birthday week" till Saturday I guess. Yessssss!

Oh yeah, and it is my blog so I can post whatever picture I want! Hahaha!

My whips: Past and Present.

I think there are a few different categories you can put most guys in. There are those who love doing anything outdoors such as: hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, etc, etc, etc. You get it. Those who love sports. Watching sports. Playing sports. Following sports. Sports. There are those who love computers and technology stuff. Computers. Phones. iPads. Etc. I think I fit in all of these categories and am a very well rounded guy. Though, if there were a category that I think that I enjoy the most, it would have to be anything with a motor. I love cars, trucks, jeeps, motorcycles, four-wheelers, etc. I think my love of cars roots back to when I was a little boy and would spend endless hours pushing tractors through the dirt with my cousin Eric. From what I was told, we really would spend hours out there. From tractors, my interested moved to monster trucks. Carolina Crusher was my truck of choice. Todd, my brother was a Grave Digger fan. He still is a fan actually. Once again, endless hours spent pushing those bad boys around in the dirt. Eventually my love of cars become really fun when I turned sixteen. (By the way, this posting is going to eventually cover all of the cars/vehicles/other rides that I have ever owned. I am just rambling.) Let's get to it!

On my 16th birthday, my mom took me over by the Bluff St. park where I met the lady who sold me my very first car. I regret not ever getting a good picture of it. It was a white 1988 Chevrolet Caprice. It was covered in bird crap and sap from being parked under a leaky old tree. The inside was just as disgusting as the outside. Most people would run away from this car as fast as possible. Me, I was very excited to bring that baby home and get her back to just-like-new condish. That financial transaction set me back a hard earned $500. It was actually a Missouri State Highway Patrol car before the lady owned it so it had some major power. A Chevy 350 engine with a four-barrel carburetor and some majorly beefed up suspension set that car apart from the rest. There were some good times had in that car. Just ask any of my buddies from high school. Actually, don't ask them. I don't think you want to hear the craziness. I miss it. If I could go back in time, I would have never sold it. I cleaned it up real good, installed a cd player in it, and sold it for $1500 a little while later. Here is a picture of it. I am pretty sure I had just got done washing it. Thanks mom for finding this picture for me.

My next ride could probably be put at the opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to gas consumption. I bought a light blue 1985 Honda Civic hatchback from a guy out in LaVerkin that my dad knew from work. This was a pricy one. A whopping $300. Actually as we were leaving the guys house he gave  $25 back so we could put gas in it on the way home. So $275 for a car wasn't a real bad deal. The car made it home with having to pull over only one time up the hill that goes by the Washington County Fairgrounds. Nice. Like the Caprice, this one needed some TLC when it got home. I got her fixed up just how I liked it. Over the 3 years we (my dad and brother helped take care of it when I was on my mission) owned that car, it ran great and was a little gas sipper. Wow. that was cheesy. So eventually when I got home from the mission, I decided it was time to move on to something that might help me find a girlfriend instead of chase them away. I ended up selling it for $300. Bought it for $275, drove it for 3 years, and sold it for $300. Awesome. Here she is. Oh yeah baby. Again, thank you Todd and mother for digging these photos up too!

The next car I bought came from my good buddy Allen Richard's dad. They were so good to me a gave me a great deal on a great car. It was a green 1996 Acura TL 3.2. That was a great car and had only been owned by one other person who was their close family member. It served me well. Heck, I found Jandee while I owned that car so it had to have some type of charm to it right?  Hahaha. Maybe because it was hunter green. With gold trim.Ya. That's got to be it. Hahaha. Here is a picture of very similar looking model.

I sold the Acura to move on to something a little more "manly" and not so hunter green. I found a sweet 1974 Jeep CJ5 when I was delivering packages up in Central, Utah. You know, on the way to Pine Valley. It was parked there off the side of the road and it was like a had to have it. I made my deliveries and pulled over to go get a better look at it and take some pictures on my phone so I could come home and start the begging process with Jandee. After days of pleading with her, she finally gave in. We drove up there on a Saturday, I took it for a little test spin, and gave the guy the money. I ended up paying $3000 for it after talking the guy down $500. Every little bit counts right? Like I mentioned with the Caprice, this is one vehicle that I often times regret selling. It kind of went through the same process the Caprice did too: brought it home and immediately started cleaning it up and getting it just how I like it. I spent hours and hours working on that Jeep. Cannon and Cohen loved that thing too. I would strap their car seats in the back and go out for some fun little jaunts. I miss the Jeep. I sold it to a high school kid that lives near my mom and dad so we drive by their house often to go see it. One day I will own another Jeep. Hopefully sooner then later. Here are a few "glamour shots'' of it if you will.

The Jeep (Colonel Mustard) became a little too unreliable and was having to be fixed a little too much so it had to go. Sad day. Really though, it was sad. I ended up selling the Jeep for what I paid for it, $3000. My next vehicle was a 1996 Toyota Camry. Exciting right? My dad is a huge Camry fan and scouted this one out for me. It had all the right mechanical work performed to where it became a super reliable machine. I paid $3200 for it. It was a good little car and probably still is for the kid who has it now. I put a  cd player in it and cleaned it up real well and ended up selling it for what I paid for it. Here is a picture from the Craigslist listing I used to sell it.

Peace out Camry. Hello and welcome Vigor! Hahaha! I sold the Camry because, again on my Fedex route I found another car I could not live without. I was working out in Hurricane and saw a white 1992 Acura Vigor parked in a ladies driveway with for sale signs in the window. Long story short - the car was 20 years old and had only 88,000 miles on it. It is absolutely immaculate and was definitely one of those cars you see that old lady driving down the street in and say to yourself 'I have got to buy that car when she sells it.' I ended up getting it from the lady for $2300. It was babied. It still is. My good friend, Tyson Hugie, who is an absolute Acura enthusiast can even attest to its rareness. It has been a great little car and I am excited to do a few other little things to "get it just how I like it." Here are a few pictures of it.

I am totally a 'cars guy.' I love anything to do with them. There is one little ride that I did not leave out but did leave for the end. Winston. Old reliable Winston. He is a 2006 Honda Ruckus that I bought from one of my sister Colleen's good friends a few years back for $1000. Driving a scooter is so fun. People might get annoyed that it will only go between 35 and 40 mph but hey, I don't really care. I usually drive it to and from work in the summer time and take the kids on rides around the neighborhood. It is a blast to own and I never plan on selling this one!

This posting has been fun to do because I was able to go back in time and think of all the fun times I had in each of these vehicles.

It is so late and I need to go to bed but wanted to finish this tonight.

Peace out and take it easy.

The Jizzazz. Yes, I am from Utah. zz

Ever since I was little, I have always been a Utah Jazz fan. We go back. Way back. Back when it was Stockton to Malone. Back when Jeff Hornacek would rub the side of his face at the free throw line to wave to each of his kids. I grew up watching the games with my dad. If the game was even remotely close, you could always count on some jumping out of chairs and yelling at the t.v. from both myself and my dad. We really get into it. Nothing has changed in this aspect. (How could we not? The Jazz are awesome!) This is something I hope to instill in all of my kids. In fact, the conversation was brought up at Sunday dinner today at my Mom's house that if the boys started watching the Jazz games and showing that they cared, that we would take them up to Salt Lake City to go watch a game. (I hope they start watching the games for my own sake!) Tonight was an especially sweet night for any true Jazz fan. We beat the L.A. Lakers in L.A. at the Staples Center. The Jazz kept Kobe Bryant to a measly 3/20 from the field. It was the worst shooting night of his career. Wow. Now that says something about the Jazz defense  tonight doesn't it? Saaaaaa-weeeet. Good job Jazz.

Although they may not end up making the playoffs this year, at least they are going out with a fight. It is real close in the Western Conference so we will just have to see how the cards fall. Whether they do end up making it or not, I will always be a true Jazz fan. That is one thing you can count on.

Hahaha. This is awesome.

"The" Intro

I never thought this day would come but I guess it did. I have my own blog now and more then likely it will be filled with crazy-style randomness. I am a pretty random person so I guess that is expected. Just to summarize myself in a few simple statements:

- I'm a happily married man and have 3 crazy kids. Really though, they are crazy.
- I am an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
- I work for Fedex Express and have done so for almost 6 years now. I do the same thing that one guy did on Youtube that threw the package over the fence. (Besides the whole throwing the packages over the fence thing.)
- There are a few different things that I really enjoy but would enjoy more if I had sufficient financial backing. They include but are not limited to: Jeeps, Harley Davidson motorcycles, going to professional sporting events, and a bunch of other things that I am too lazy to think of at this moment.
- I am a true to the heart Utah Jazz fan. In fact, I am having a difficulty even finishing this posting because the Jazz/Laker game just started. Dangit.
- Most importantly, I love my family. My wife is da bomb.com. Each of my kids are so different but they are each so special. I love them all.

There will be much more to come on this blog and it will be a place for me to express random thoughts/feelings/opinions/interests/random stuff. Was that enough /'s for ya?

Here is a picture of my family.

Peace out.
